The story of a tree
it gives away every bit for free
storms pass by, lightning falls heavy but it don’t flee
bill printed from its veins, but sheds no tear
and bare charge nill fee
never gives up — blossoms each year
The story of a tree
sprouts from a dead seed
exhales life to what it touch
bears food to fill the greedy stomache
at least be thankful for the air you breathe
but it know better and so show no sign of ego or scorn
forget the pride, the more it bear the more it bow
even in its end, it provide the wood for you to be warm
The story of a tree
O mere humanity have some fear
you are murdering the one who’s dear
destruction you cheer then how can prosperity appear
don’t take its silence for inferior
abolition won’t haunt, its giving you a cute leer.
